Benjamin S. Harris, M.D., M.P.H., is a board-certified OB/GYN and board-eligible REI practicing with Shady Grove Fertility in Richmond, Virginia.
Born in Durham and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Harris earned his undergraduate degree, Doctor of Medicine, and Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed his residency training in OB/GYN at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina where he served as an Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Harris continued his training at Duke University Medical Center to complete his fellowship in REI. During this time, Dr. Harris was recognized for his excellence in research, education, and leadership.
Dr. Harris is an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and serves as the associate program director of the SGF Jones Institute fellowship for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He also serves as the director of research for the SGF Southern Virginia region.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Harris enjoys helping patients build their families and plan their reproductive future. His clinical interests include fertility preservation, oncofertility, third-party reproduction, and caring for patients with diminished ovarian reserve.
